Theodore Meeker (Ted) is a partner at Sumner Meeker, LLC. He is an experienced civil litigator with particular expertise in cases involving local government law, personal injury and complex business litigation. Ted has substantial experience litigating cases involving issues of local government law, including zoning, land use, constitutional torts, government liability, personnel, interpretation and enforcement of local ordinances and taxation. He also has substantial experience in the area of personal injury and business litigation. To date, his clients have received in excess of $5,000,000 in personal injury settlements and judgments.
Ted values the relationships he has with his clients. Since 1998, Ted has had the privilege of serving as City Attorney for the Cities of Luthersville and Haralson. He has had the privilege of serving as City Attorney for the City of Peachtree City since January, 2003. He has also served as City Attorney for the City of Greenville since 2006, and the Town of Turin since 2005. As city attorney, he provides legal representation and counsel on a wide variety of issues.
Professional memberships include the State Bar of Georgia – Local Government Law Section, Coweta Bar Association, Georgia Municipal Association (past president of the City Attorneys’ section.)
Ted attended the University of Georgia, earning a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in English. He obtained his J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law/Samford University in Birmingham Alabama.
Ted lives in Sharpsburg with his wife of 24 years and their three children – Brock, Ann Marie and Lily. He is an active member and former Vision Team Member at Southcrest Church, and previously held leadership positions with the East Coweta High School Gridiron Club. In his personal time, Ted enjoys the outdoors, golfing, traveling, attending live performances and Broadway shows, and attending football games. These are all favorite activities, especially when they include his family.
